Monocast ("we", "us", "our") is operated by EBD Sweden AB. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS app and website at monocast.live (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: When you sign up via Google or email, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your authentication provider (Clerk).
  • Audio recordings: Podcast episodes you record are uploaded to our secure servers (AWS S3, eu-north-1 region) for transcription and publishing.
  • Transcripts and summaries: We process your audio using AI services to generate transcripts and summaries. These are stored alongside your episodes.
  • Usage data: We track minutes used for transcription to manage your plan limits.
  • Payment information: Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service: recording, transcription, summarization, and podcast publishing.
  • To manage your account and subscription.
  • To generate your podcast RSS feed and make published episodes available.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., welcome emails, billing confirmations).
  • To improve the Service.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in the EU (AWS eu-north-1, Stockholm). Audio files are stored in encrypted S3 buckets. Unpublished audio is kept in a private bucket accessible only to our backend services. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

You can:

  • Access, update, or delete your account data from the Settings page.
  • Delete individual episodes (audio is removed from both private and public storage).
  • Request a full data export or account deletion by emailing us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete an episode, the audio is removed from both private and public storage immediately. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (Clerk session). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Children

Monocast is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
